Abstract: 

In this paper, the concepts of "cybersecurity" and "information security" are analyzed, the differences between them are revealed, the evolution of the origin of meanings is given, the most significant areas of coincidence are analyzed, as well as possible ways and areas of use. The assessment of modern concepts and their comparison with global trends is given, and the author's point of view on the interpretation of the term cybersecurity is proposed. the main directions of possible changes in the terms under consideration.
