In this paper, an OFDM system is considered, where a turbo code is used as an error-correcting encoder. The turbo code consists of two systematic convolutional codes with a coding rate of 1/2. The interleaver, which is part of the turbo code, is random (S-random), and the input data stream is 1244 bits long. The system was simulated using the MatLab software. QAM-256 was used as the type of modulation, and the communication channel was presented in the form of a Rayleigh distribution with additive white Gaussian noise. Based on the simulation results, graphs of the dependences of the bit error (BER) value on the ratio of the signal energy per 1 bit of information to the energy spectral noise density (Eb / N0) were constructed.
