Аннотация:

A feature of the design and development of information systems (IS) is that the «thick client» and the application server are programmed by the IS developers themselves, while the DBMS developers are only powerful, diversified IT companies. The development of a "self-made" DBMS is not welcome, because such a DBMS cannot be integrated with other IS.

When designing an IS, a DBMS is usually specified by the customer. This is due to the fact that the customer in most cases already has some kind of database, so he is interested in the fact that new systems are integrated into existing ones. Therefore, IS developers periodically have the task of combining the programming technologies they have mastered well with a previously unknown DBM

To master the work with a new DBMS, IS developers need a workable IS shell capable of working with this DBMS. In turn, to create a workable IS shell, you need a workable database implemented in this DBMS. There is a vicious circle that can cause certain difficulties for IS developers. As a way out of this difficulty, it is proposed to develop an educational IS capable of working with various DBMS and allowing the development of new technologies for designing databases and IS. ADO technology is at the heart of the development of an educational IS for a trade enterprise.
